This week PEACEAnimals free spay and neuter clinic visited Valle Esmeralda. We were hosted by Sacnicte and Alejandro who opened up their home and assisted with promotion, registrations, and recovery for the four days of the clinic. Located on the outskirts of San Vicente, Valle Esmeralda is a rapidly growing development with many new families moving in. It is very important to establish responsible pet ownership norms in the community and prevent unwanted and stray animals in the area. So far the community seems to have adopted these values. Stray animals are a rare sight here and pet owners keep their dogs on leashes and pick up after their pets helping to maintain the nicely manicured walkways, parks, and green areas. We had a very successful attendance this week with many people coming from the nearby colonia La Mision and San Vicente.
