The Altavela Spay & Neuter Clinic was a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Despite weather challenges that forced us to cancel one of our scheduled clinic days, the dedication and determination of our team made it possible to complete 198 spay and neuter surgeries, giving hundreds of animals the opportunity for healthier lives while helping reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

This achievement was made possible through the incredible unity of volunteers, veterinary professionals, and community members who worked side by side with one common goal: improving the lives of animals. Every pet owner who brought their companion, every volunteer who donated their time, and every team member who went above and beyond played an essential role in the success of this clinic.

A very special thank you goes to our outstanding volunteers Aixa, Perla, and Cinthya. Their commitment kept the clinic operating efficiently from beginning to end. Whether welcoming families during registration, carefully monitoring patients during recovery, or organizing the steady flow of animals throughout the day, their compassion and attention to detail ensured that every patient received the care they deserved. Their kindness was felt by every pet owner who walked through our doors.

The dedication of our veterinary team was nothing short of extraordinary. After losing an entire clinic day due to severe weather, they responded with remarkable determination, working tirelessly on the final day to help as many animals as possible. Their professionalism, teamwork, and willingness to push through long hours allowed us to reach an incredible total of 198 surgeries, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to animal welfare.

The clinic also brought an unexpected and heartwarming story. During the event, volunteer Perla arrived with two rescued kittens in need of a safe home. Their playful personalities and gentle spirit quickly captured the heart of our Clinic Director, Abraham Galeana, who decided to adopt them. They now have a loving forever home and new names: Aura and Beni. Their story serves as a beautiful reminder that sometimes the lives we set out to save end up changing our own.

Every clinic is about more than numbers. Behind each surgery is a family that cares for their pet, a volunteer who gave their time, and a team committed to creating a healthier future for animals. The Altavela clinic demonstrated the strength of community, the power of compassion, and what can be achieved when people work together toward a common mission.

To everyone who participated—our veterinary team, volunteers, supporters, and the families who trusted us with their beloved pets—thank you. Your dedication made this clinic a success and helped create a lasting impact for animals throughout the Altavela community.

Together, we are building a future where every animal has the chance to live a healthier, happier life.
