A RECORD-BREAKING CLINIC IN VALLE DORADO
243 Animals Sterilized, One Community United by Compassion ❤️
At PEACEAnimals, every clinic is more than a day of surgeries. It is an opportunity to bring people together around a shared vision: ending animal suffering and working toward a future where animal overpopulation is no longer a reality in our communities.
Our recent clinic in Valle Dorado was a truly extraordinary milestone. Together with our incredible veterinary team—Dr. Anthony, Dr. Pacheco, and Dra. Leslie—we sterilized an amazing 243 animals, setting a new record for our clinics.
This achievement is about much more than a number. 243 dogs and cats now have a better chance at healthier lives, and hundreds of unwanted litters can be prevented. It is also powerful evidence that pet owners and communities are increasingly coming together to take responsibility and become part of the solution.
A Clinic Under the Heat ☀️
This accomplishment was especially meaningful because our region has been facing challenging summer conditions. The combination of high temperatures, intense humidity, and the rainy season in Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta creates difficult working conditions for everyone—but especially for veterinary teams performing delicate surgeries.
The region has experienced extreme weather throughout its history, including powerful hurricanes such as Hurricane Kenna in 2002 and Hurricane Patricia in 2015, one of the most powerful tropical cyclones ever recorded. These events are reminders of the extreme conditions communities along the Pacific coast can face.
While our current challenge is very different, the lesson is the same: our communities must adapt and find creative ways to protect people and animals.
For our clinics, that means continuing to search for facilities with air conditioning and safe, comfortable surgical environments where our veterinarians can work under the best possible conditions.
A Story That Began in Ixtapa
Valle Dorado was especially meaningful because its story began with a conversation.
During our Ixtapa clinic, Osiris met PEACEAnimals Clinic Director Abraham and shared with him the story of her community—the challenges Valle Dorado was experiencing with animal overpopulation and the urgent need for accessible sterilization services.
Her story stayed with him.
What began as a conversation became a commitment: bring the clinic to Valle Dorado.
Sometimes, meaningful change begins with simply listening to someone who cares deeply about their community. Osiris’s determination and love for the animals in Valle Dorado helped open the door for this clinic, and what followed was an incredible demonstration of what can happen when a community and an organization work together.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Professor Rodrigo Partida, Director of “Héroes del Bicentenario de la Independencia,” for opening the school’s doors to PEACEAnimals.
Professor Rodrigo generously provided two classrooms equipped with air conditioning, creating a much more comfortable environment for our veterinary team, volunteers, pet owners, and patients.
His generosity was particularly important during these challenging summer conditions. The school became, for a few days, much more than a place of education—it became a place where a community came together to protect its animals.
And a special thank-you goes to Gina, Osiris’s mother, who showed up every morning to open the school and make sure our team could begin the day’s work.
These acts of kindness may seem simple, but they are the foundation of successful community programs.
The Volunteers Who Make It Possible
Behind every successful clinic is a team of people working quietly, passionately, and often behind the scenes.
Our amazing volunteers Cinthia, Axia, and Perla have become an essential part of making these clinics happen. Their contribution goes far beyond volunteering on clinic day. They help identify communities in need, search for suitable facilities, communicate with local residents, organize logistics, and help transform an idea into a real opportunity for hundreds of animals.
Their work is a beautiful example of what community action can accomplish.
They don’t simply ask, “Where can we hold the next clinic?” They ask, “Where are we needed most, and how can we make it happen?”
That spirit of perseverance and compassion is at the heart of PEACEAnimals. ❤️
Valle Dorado, thank you for welcoming us.
This record belongs to all of us.
And together, we will keep moving forward—one animal, one family, and one community at a time.
