🐾 PEACEAnimals Returns to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle

A Special First Clinic at the Newly Renovated Kids Club

September brought a very special milestone for PEACEAnimals and Amigos de la Cruz A.C. Our latest spay and neuter clinic in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle was the first-ever clinic hosted at the recently renovated Kids Club building, marking an exciting new chapter for the space and for our community.

The newly renovated Kids Club, operated by Amigos de la Cruz A.C., provided a welcoming space for the veterinary team, volunteers, pet owners, and their animals. It was wonderful to see the building being used not only for our children’s programs, but also as a place where the community can come together to support animal welfare.

🐾 Our Second Collaboration with Sociedad Animal

This was also our second collaboration with Sociedad Animal and their Steribus, bringing their mobile veterinary unit to La Cruz.

We would like to give a special thank you to Alejandra and the entire Sociedad Animal team. They were incredibly accessible, supportive, and willing to cooperate throughout the entire clinic. Their positive attitude and teamwork made everything run smoothly and created a great experience for everyone involved.

Working together allows us to reach more families and provide accessible spay and neuter services to animals in our community.

🐶 61 Animals Sterilized in Two Days

Over the two-day clinic, Dr. Abel sterilized a total of 61 animals.

Dr. Abel once again demonstrated his professionalism, experience, patience, and genuine care for every animal under his attention. His calm and compassionate approach helped create a positive environment throughout the clinic, while his dedication and efficiency allowed the team to help a large number of animals in just two days.

Every animal sterilized means fewer unwanted litters and a healthier future for pets and the community.

❤️ Our Amazing Volunteers

Behind every successful clinic is a team of dedicated volunteers, and this clinic was no exception.

Marianne, Greg, Vicki, Kristen, Patricia, Elinore, Kat, and Lynn showed up early each day to begin preparations and activities. They welcomed pet owners, helped organize the flow of the clinic, registered every patient, answered questions, and made sure everyone felt welcomed and supported.

Their willingness to arrive early, work hard, and help wherever needed is what makes these clinics possible.

🐾 Kids Club Children Join the Clinic

One of the most special parts of this clinic was having children from Amigos Kids Club come to help and learn about the PEACEAnimals mission.

Guided by Kids Club and Clinic Director Abraham, along with our dedicated volunteers, the children had the opportunity to see how a spay and neuter clinic works and learn about responsible pet ownership, animal care, compassion, and the importance of sterilization.

Our volunteers took the time to share their knowledge and experiences with the children, answering their questions and helping them understand how they can make a difference in the lives of animals in their own community.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they participated and discovered that helping animals can also be a way of serving their community. ❤️🐶🐱

A very special thank you to our wonderful neighbors, Sandra next door neighbor and Erik, owner of Michoacana Ice Cream Shop, for kindly allowing us to park Sociedad Animal’s Steribus in front of their property during our clinic.

Their generosity and willingness to support our work made a big difference in helping us organize the clinic and welcome pet owners and their animals. We are truly grateful to have such supportive neighbors and community members who are always willing to lend a hand and help make these clinics possible. 🐾❤️

👕 The Legendary PEACEAnimals Clinic Shirt

And of course, we cannot talk about our volunteers without mentioning Elinore — our unofficial clinic caterer! ❤️😂

Elinore is always thinking about the people behind the clinic. She regularly brings lunch for everyone working during the clinics, making sure our volunteers, veterinary team, staff, and everyone working hard throughout the day have something to eat.

But Elinore has another PEACEAnimals tradition that deserves to be shared.

Back during the COVID days, Elinore and a couple of friends simply wanted to get “out” — as in, out of their houses!

PEACEAnimals was able to continue holding clinics during that time, so they joined us at several clinics in places like Vallarta and San José.

At one of those clinics, Amy Welch gave them PEACEAnimals T-shirts.

Elinore’s shirt didn’t stay clean for very long.

As Elinore tells it:

“Mine was immediately stained with exactly what you think — poop, pee, puke, purple stuff.”

And just like that, the shirt became her official PEACEAnimals clinic shirt.

At every clinic, someone eventually tells her, “You need a new shirt!”

But Elinore has a different plan.

She washes it, saves it, and wears it back for the next clinic.

And then the next one.

And the next one.

Years later, that same shirt is still showing up to work. 👕🐾

This week, PEACEAnimals will be holding our next spay and neuter clinic in Valle de Banderas from Wednesday, September 23 through Saturday, September 26.

We look forward to continuing our work with local communities and reaching more families who need access to affordable and compassionate veterinary services.
